Halmstad, on the south-west coast of Sweden, might well be considered Sweden's Riviera. Long sandy beaches and lush inland forests make it an ideal place for a vacation and for O-Ringen 2012. The O-Ringen Town will be located a short distance from the city center, just a quick jog through "Galgberget", a popular park and recreation area for Halmstad residents. The orienteering stages will offer a complete review of typical Halland terrain, with vegatation ranging from very open beech woods to varying ages of pine forest, and a spectacular finish on the edge of the beach one of the days.
