O-Ringen improves the competition experience and now makes touch free punching possible. Sportident Air+ is now being introduced for all sub-competitions within the Foot-O.

During O-Ringen Jönköping 2025, it will be possible to punch contactlessly on the Bagheera Youth Relay, the Elite Sprint and on all five forest stages for orienteering. This allows the holder of a SIAC to punch by swiping above the punching unit, without pressing the unit down into the stamping unit's hole. It provides faster and easier punching, which also means that there is less risk of queuing at the controls.

Offer

You who register for O-Ringen can, in connection with the registration, order a new SIAC for the discounted price of SEK 820. If you are already registered, supplement your registration with the purchase of a SIAC at the same price by emailing our booking service oringen@bynordiq.se. Include your booking number in the email. When ordering, choose whether you want the SIAC sent to your home (within the EU and Norway) or whether you want to pick up the SIAC when you come to O-Ringen this summer. The SIAC is sent immediately after ordering, so you can also use it at other competitions before you come to O-Ringen. After June 30, no SIAC will be sent out.

The offer applies to one SIAC per registered person, and of course also to those who register for MTBO (which has already had contactless stamping on O-Ringen for a few years now).

The offer is valid until April 30th for registrations already made, and even until registration closes for orders made in connection with new registrations.

I have an old punching unit / SI-card

You who are satisfied with your old SI-card do not need to do anything. The old SI will work as usual during O-Ringen Jönköping 2025.

More about SIAC

SIAC is the name of the model of punching units that enables touch free punching. For them to work, the organizer must have activated the function in the control. On controls where this is not activated, punching takes place as usual, i.e. by inserting the punching unit into the hole of the unit.

For a short while after punching (both contactless and traditional) the SIAC flashes and beeps. It is very important that the runner listens and looks for this confirmation of registered punching. If no confirmation is given, the punch must be redone in the traditional way.

SIAC has a built-in battery, which works for three years and must then be replaced for the unit to be guaranteed to work. If the battery runs out, it is always possible to punch traditionally, but the SIAC will then not give any confirmation. Then be careful to check that the punching unit confirms the punch. Battery replacement can be done by sending the unit to Sportident. Sportident has also promised to offer battery replacement on site during O-Ringen Jönköping.
