Past, current and future organizing municipalities meet today at O-Ringen during "Municipality Day" organized by Destination Jönköping and O-Ringen.

On site during the day are politicians, representatives from the business community and the Police.

– During the day we will visit MTBO, the campsite, O-Ringentorget and tonight we will finish with dinner at Rudenstams together with our partners, says Daniel Tidsam from Destination Jönköping.

– O-Ringen is a fantastic event and the nature as an arena suits Jönköping very well, says Johan Fritz, City Director of Jönköping. It’s also great to be able to offer a campsite so centrally located at Elmia.

What tips would you like to send to next year’s organizers in Gothenburg?

– Prepare well in advance, it takes a lot of officials, not only orienteering clubs, but also others who can help. But also, everything related to logistics, you have to be on your toes with everything from electricity to water and sewage.

– But orienteers are a grateful target group, notes Johan. And he continues. Orienteers don’t leave much trash behind.

Anna-Karin Zinnerfors, CEO of Elmia, visited O-Ringen yesterday and took the opportunity to test a course.

– It was fantastic to be a participant and experience the feeling in the forest. Feeling the pulse when you couldn't find control and then getting a little more fluid for the next one, says Anna, who has not orienteered before but the feeling after yesterday was, "I'll probably do this again in the future".

– It has worked very well at Elmia, she continues. Orienteers care about nature, which is in line with Elmia's values.

– It's also great to see an event and a sport where you socialize across age limits. Where you take responsibility for each other and create role models for life.
