In a crowd of ​​orienteers and tourists, a spectacular sprint was decided on Wednesday, right in the middle of central Gothenburg.

The third stage of the elite tour, the Chalmers sprint at Arena Kungstorget, was decided in a summery Gothenburg on Wednesday. In the audience were both O-Ringen participants who wanted to cheer on their idols, and surprised tourists who contributed to the folk festival. The classes D18E, H18E, D20E, H20E, D21E and H21E competed on what they described as a tough sprint course. Once at the finish line, they were able to collect their bags, which had been delivered from the quarantine at Pustervik to the finish area, by sightseeing boat on the canal!

H21E winner Kasper Fosser described to GöteborgsPosten that the race had a Tour de France feel. Simona Aebersold, the pre-race favorite and who also won D21E, also told GöteborgsPosten that it was great fun to run, with people cheering from start to finish.

Thursday is a non-competition day for the elite. Ahead of the last two stages, Simona Aebersold leads the overall women's class, 2:38 min ahead of Tove Alexandersson and then 13:14 min ahead of third-place Marie Olausen. The overall leader in the men's class right now is Viktor Svensk, 1:14 min ahead of big brother Emil Svensk and 4:08 min ahead of Gustav Bergman.
