During O-Ringen Smålandskusten 2024, there are competitions for everyone, ranging from elite runners fighting for the final victory after five days, to those who challenge themselves in different classes as well as children and adults who are beginners.

Here is a guide that will help you choose the right competition for you. There are competitions over five and three days. You can also choose to run individual days.

Elite Tour

For the top foot-O runners in the world. The start fields are selected based on ranking and divided into six classes: D18 Elite, H18 Elite, D20 Elite, H20 Elite, D21 Elite och H21 Elite.

Foot-O

To compete in orienteering over five days / stages is the cornerstone and origin of O-Ringen. That's how it all started in 1965 and that's how most people still participate today.

Main classes & Short classes

Compete against the best in each age group, in our main classes or in short classes. Age and gender classes from DH 10 to DH 95 will be available, as well as three Introduction classes for our younger runners: Inskolning, U1 och U2.

Recreational classes

Easier and shorter courses were the classes are divided by age and gender. Classes from DH21 to DH80.

Open classes (5-days)

Compete with whomever you want on a course you select for yourself. Choose the length and difficulty that suits you. Classes are assigned by course and open for all ages and genders. Open classes was earlier named Challenge classes.

Open classes (3-days)

Get the full O-Ringen experience, but in fewer days. Compete with whomever you want on a course you select for yourself. Choose the length and difficulty that suits you. Classes are assigned by course and open for all ages and genders. 3-days include the last three stages.

Stage start

Take part in one or several days / stages. You choose any course with a length and difficulty that suits you from a wide range of classes.

MTBO

Competition in MTBO. Classes between DH12 to DH80.

Main classes

Stage start

If you only want to ride some of the stages or would like the freedom of selecting a different course for each day, then Stage Start is the option for you. You can either sign up for Stage Start ahead of time or buy your entries directly at the competition arenas.

You can start whenever you want at each stage you participate in. If you participate in several stages, no total time is given, but each start is independent.

Trail-O

Competition in Trail-O. Easily accessible courses that provide an exciting mental challenge. Choose your level of difficulty and sign up for one of the four classes.

Bagheera Youth relay

The traditional relay organized in conjunction with the opening ceremonie. A perfect start of O-Ringen.

Training courses with timing

Get ready for your real start by participating at one of our training courses with timing (replaces our training race). You choose your level of difficulty and length from a selection of classes.
