Foot-O

Odensjö – Stage 1 & 2

Long distance on Monday, middle distance on Tuesday.

The arena is located on a very large field, almost so that you will feel small. The forest in the east is divided north-south by a larger marsh. The area consist of a few really large heights in terms of both circumference and height. There are also a larger number of smaller (more normal) elevations that are very detailed. The forest between these heights can be dense in places, but alternates with very open forest. Strategy for change of pace from fast passage to detailed control taking will be the key.

We are going to be a bit controversial here. Half of the participants run in the northern area stage 1, half in the south. For stage 2, we then switch places.

Tenhult - Stage 3

Middle distance on Thursday.

It is time for another field, but now more on the highlands. From your place in the arena you can look down into the Huskvarna valley or out towards the landscape in the west. The forest is also different from the previous two stages. Now it opens up even more in general. Småland´s large forest at its most beautiful. Thoughts bring you to the tales about John Bauer. Here, the path and road network is also more intense.

Månsarp - Stage 4 & 5

We end the week with two long distances, Friday and Saturday.

It will be an intimate arena which consists of three football pitches. The contrast is obvious. So also in the forest where especially the fourth stage offers something completly different. The clear distinctive heights have been replaced with heights with only one or two curves, the high level of details has become low level and the vegetation is a little more diffuse. For those of you who run the longer courses, the terrain changes slightly in the south. More details, more rocks, more thinnings...simply more challenging.

In the fifth and final stage, you are evaluated on what you have learned during the week. The big heights are there, the detailed heights have their place, you get to remember the less detailed parts and we offer a fast running finish where we see several of you on the edge of the height in the pine forest before you come in for the finish sprint.

Österängen - Bagheera Youth Relay

About 1 kilometer from the O-Ringen City Elmia you will find the arena for the Bagheera Youth Relay. Here we encounter an amost completely open park area where the buildings vary in size and shape. The competition area is divided by a stream ravine that you will pass a couple of times while the crowd in the area has a full view from their slightly higher position.

Jönköpings centrum – Elite sprint

With the arena Rådhusparken, in the middle of central Jönköping, it will be a city sprint with various orienteering. Newer and older buildings, courtyards and government buildings as well as direct proximity to Munksjön. Audience friendly.

MTBO

MTBO and Foot-O will use the same arena stage 1, 4 and 5. However, everyone can be calm, we will never simultaneously bike and run in the same area. It is actually only stage 4 that will be the same as Foot-O, but the Foot-O will run in the area the following day.

Overall, the variation between the stages will be large. From areas with slightly fewer paths/roads to existing MTB arenas where the tracks wind around each other. Even the hills will change, so you need to look a little extra at the choice of road before you decide.

TrailO

Three own arenas. Five own forest areas. We gather a great variety, even when the same arena is used for two stages. Curve image, vegetation and level of details...it will require an understanding of most to solve all problems.
