Foot-O

Stage 1 and 2, Täljö

The week begins with two stages in Täljö, which is located west of Åkerberga, northeast of Stockholm. Here you will be greeted by the feeling of being in the middle of the countryside with crowing roosters and grazing horses.

Fantastic orienteering terrain, moderately hilly and varied with elements of both untouched nature with flat rocks and good visibility and with cultivated forest with denser vegetation.

Stage 3 and 4, Kärrtorp

After the activity day, two stages follow in the Nacka Nature Reserve and Erstavik. The terrain here serves as home terrain for the elite runners Gustav Bergman and Karolin Ohlsson. The area is popular among visitors, and its extensive network of trails can challenge even the most experienced orienteer. At the same time, human impact is otherwise limited, reflected in the relatively small scale of forestry operations, and despite its proximity to a major city, the feeling of wilderness is never far away.

Stage 5, Stockholms Stadion

The final stage is in the Royal hunting grounds of the Royal National City Park. Competitors will encounter terrain with many trails where elements of deciduous forest limits the visibility and finding the controlls gets more challenging than you might think.

The finish line is at the historic Stockholm Olympic Stadium, more than 110 years old and therefore the oldest Olympic stadium still in use.

Elits sprint, Akalla

Stage 3 of the Elite Tour takes place, as usual, on the activity day (Wednesday). The competition area is located in Akalla, northwest of Stockholm. Competitors can look forward to sprint orienteering in a challenging three-dimensional environment with excellent spectator areas surrounding the arena.

Bagheera Youth Relay, Garnisonen

Within walking distance of O-Ringen City, the week begins with the Youth Relay.
